The world-renowned Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills (PEERS®) provides social skills programs to pre-schoolers, adolescents and young adults who have a diagnosis of autism, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder, anxiety, depression and other socio-emotional challenges.

First developed by Dr. Elizabeth Laugeson at the University of California (UCLA), the program has been researched widely and the strong evidence-base demonstrates it is very effective in helping people develop and maintain meaningful relationships. Studies have demonstrated significant improvements in social ability following participation in the PEERS® intervention.

Our psychologists and behaviour support practitioners are trained PEERS® providers. Guidestar currently offers a one-day taster course for young adults with plans to run the full PEERS® program consisting of 16 weekly sessions.

The one-day PEERS workshop, aimed at people aged between 18 and 30 years of age, will take place on a Saturday from 10am – 4pm (date to be set in consultation with interested participants) at Guidestar’s offices in Coburg. The price of the workshop is $330 (incl.GST). NDIS participants may be able to use their funding to cover this workshop.
