Training for NDIS Providers Implementing Behaviour Support Plans

This informative training package for support workers covers the ‘what, why, how, who and where’ of restrictive practices.

This package will assist your organisation to meet the outcome requirements of the NDIS Practice Standards contained in Module 2A Implementing behaviour support plans.

Practice Standard: Supporting the Assessment and Development of Behaviour Support Plans.

Outcome Indicator: Relevant workers have access to appropriate training to enhance their skills in, and knowledge of, positive behaviour supports and restrictive practices.

All about Restrictive Practices

On completion of this package, the participant will be able to:

  • define and identify restrictive practices, regulated restrictive practices and prohibited practices
  • explain why some practices are restricted or prohibited
  • identify when and how a restrictive practice may be used
  • describe the legal obligations that must be met if restrictive practices are used
  • identify an unauthorised restrictive practice and the associated reporting obligations
  • identify the issues and dilemmas surrounding the use of restrictive practices
